5.3.
List of high impact Demo projects carried out in the area of Lighting, Buildings and Municipalities and the amount of energy saved
In 2008-09

1) Replaced all sodium vapour lamps in street lights from CREDA s fund from Shastri Chowk,Raipur, to Tatibandh Chowk, Raipur with 4 x 24W, T-5 luminaries and saving 8.82 lacs units of electricity per year.Work of replacement for roads in progress.

2) Under DSM demo project the Airport road of 9.5 KMS has been illuminated by replacing 300 W sodium vapour lights with solar powered T-5 lamps and saving 3.79 lacs units of electricity per year.

3) Provided APFC (Automatic Power Factor Corrector) in CIMS, Bilaspur saving Rs. 3.56 lacs annually in energy cost and improvement power factor from 0.85 to 0.96.

4) Also provided APFC in medical college hospital, Raipur thereby removing the penalty for low power factor.

5) Provided Solar Water Heating Systems in Pahal an NGO saving net annual energy cost savings of Rs. 18.04 lacs.

6) Carried out Energy Efficiency demo project in Pt. Ravishankar University Raipur, energy savings achieved 5.7 kWh/day equivalent to 16644 kWh annually. (08 hrs. operation)

7) Carried out Energy Efficiency demo project in Street lighting in Nagar Palika Nigam, Durg by replacing existing HPSV street light fittings by energy efficient T-5 fittings and energy saver panel with timer. energy savings achieved 43 kWh/day equivalent to 156950 kWh annually. (10 hrs. operation)

7) Carried out Energy Efficiency demo project in Street lighting in Nagar Palika Nigam, Durg by replacing existing HPSV street light fittings by energy efficient T-5 fittings and energy saver panel with timer. energy savings achieved 43 kWh/day equivalent to 156950 kWh annually.

8) Carried out demo project in water supply in Nagar Palika Parishad Bemetara by replacement of 01 submersible pump with 5 star energy efficient submersible pump saving energy 12 kWh/day equivalent to 35050 kWh annually. (08 hrs. operation)

In previous years

1) Jail Road – Epic Energy Mumbai had installed Auto Switch in street lighting near Astha Petrol pump, Raipur, and monitored energy savings for 05 days 30% savings achieved.

2) Collectrate, Raipur, CFL/Choke/Fans – 0.96 Lacs/Year.

3) Collectrate, Bilaspur – Changed 568 Chokes, 170 Regulators,
106 Fans, & 192 CFLs and achieved energy savings of 15 KWh/Hr.

Issued order for B.E.E. approved pump sets with appropriate capacitors, PVC suction and delivery pipe, frictionless foot valves and CFLs upto 20 Watts in all new pump connections under Krishak Jeevan Jyoti Yojana vide Govt. of Chhattisgarh Department of Energy, order No. 1437/F-21/08/NI.E.Y/09/13/2/E.D/2009 Dtd. 25-09-09.

2. Issued notification for appointment of Inspecting Officers, their powers and functions as under Section 17 (1) to
17 (4) of E.C. Act-2001. vide No. 4132/382/2009/13/1 Raipur Dtd. 22-08-09.

3. Issued notification for use of CFLs,T-5, Electronic Choke Regulators, Energy efficient fans in all industrial commercial, institutional as well as all Central/State Govt. and their PSU offices/Establishments. It also states use of CFL, T-5 / LPSV/Induction Arch Energy Efficient Street light fittings for all new and existing colonies/townships of Govt. / Private / Autonomous bodies vide No. F1-21/2005/13/1, 14049 Dtd. 18-08-09.

4. CREDA has also been entrusted the implementation of Bachat Lamp Yojana of B.E.E. in nine districts of Chhattisgarh vide No. 594/2009/13/1 Raipur 10-07-09.

b) Providing capacities for pump sets and rural feeders.

Annual Report on Impact of EC Act and other activities carried out by SDAs related to Energy Conservation measures in year 2007-08 and 2008-09
1) Annual report on Impact of EC Act-2001 in the state of Chhattisgarh in the year 2008-09 & summary for 2007-08 attached

2) Carried out all activities on Energy Conservation as per the B.E.E.s 19 point programme. In the year 2008-09 and 2007-08(monitoring matrix attached) .

3) Other activities related to Energy Conservation measures in year 2007-08 and 2008-09 include the conducting of various seminars/workshops for the training of various stakeholders in the state:-

Organised :

i) Half yearly state level meeting with certified energy managers and accredited auditors to discuss duties and responsibilities as well as joint progress on 7th February 2009.

ii) Half yearly regional meeting for exchange of information about lessons learned on state level implementation of E.C. Act. - Three SDA s participated with CREDA on 20th June 2009.

iii) Training of DCs for annual reporting of energy data on 28-02-09.

iv) Annual state level conference of energy intensive industries and certified EM/EAs with constitution of award for all categories – 13-06-09

4) Published various booklets / brochures / posters etc. to be distributed among all stake holders. (copies attached).

5) Prepared the list of Energy Managers / Auditors, DCs and uploading in CREDA website, Commercial buildings as designated consumers, house hold appliances, availability of star labeled equipments in the state etc. as per BEEs annual action plan.

6) CREDA is the first SDA to have provided the linking of e-filing module from BEE’s website to CREDA’s website for providing a platform for e-filing of energy returns for DCs of the state.

Govt. of Chhattisgarh has constituted State level Energy Conservation fund of Rs. 1 Crore. vide letter No. 835/CN-1258 Dtd. 30-10-06 of finance department Govt. of C.G.
In the year 2009-10 again, a fund of Rs.1.3 Crores has been granted by the Govt. of Chhattisgarh
